A SWEET LULLABY

By: Abi Raad

I remember a sweet lullaby
Mother used to sing to me
I don’t remember its rhymes
I remember the means
There’s a dream, a future
a hope, a life
a will, a fight.
We have to face them
I remember a sweet lullaby
Mother used to sing to me
I don’t remember its lyrics
I remember what did mean
Life is never easy
Hardship of course will be
But, giving up mustn’t be.
Struggle shouldn't end
Go to the best as we can
Looking ahead ought to be kept on
But, to turn back is needed too
We have to be aware
I remember a sweet lullaby
Mother used to sing to me
I don’t remember its lyrics
I remember what was in
Finishing one isn't done
Another is going to be begun
Stop learning fools us
Stop trying backs us
Life goes on
The battle is never gone
